SRF 2009 Charity Golf Tournament a Success!
On May 26, 2009, lovers of trotters, pacers and putters turned out at beautiful Knob Hill Country Club in Manalapan , New Jersey to play in the Standardbred Retirement Foundation’s Annual Charity Golf Tournament. Despite rescheduling due to racing conflicts and a day of inclement weather, the tournament experienced a strong turnout, as always, from the horsemen and the harness racing community. The generosity of Valley High Stable, John Carver, Showplace Farms, Gaitway Farms, and the kindness of the many other supporting sponsors was matched by the enthusiasm of the 150 combined players and attendees who stayed to enjoy the gourmet dinner and bid generously on the wonderful items donated for a record-breaking auction. The support of our sponsors, players, donors, buyers and especially our volunteers produced our most successful tournament to date. We want to thank everyone who attended this year’s tournament, and give a special “shout out” to the golf committee whose time, energy and hard work made for an outstanding day.
